FACULTY OF HEALTH KEELE CLINICAL TRIALS UNIT (CTU) and HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH UNIT (HSRU), INSTITUTE FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICINE (ISTM) and INSTITUTE FOR PRIMARY CARE AND HEALTH SCIENCES (iPCHS) Research Associate In Medical Statistics (Fixed Term 30 months – Full Time) Grade 7 Starting salary £31,342pa As a result of our highly successful REF 2014 submissions, the Faculty of Health at Keele University is expanding the medical statistics infrastructure underpinning their two well-regarded research Institutes:, Primary Care and Health Sciences (iPCHS) and Science and Technology in Medicine (ISTM). This post will work to support newly appointed senior staff within cardiovascular research in ISTM and the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), especially by providing methodological and applied expertise in meta-analysis and evidence synthesis, enabling evaluation of the real-world effectiveness of cardiovascular interventions to patients, and their associated outcomes. Applied and methodological research outputs will be expected. You will have a PhD in medical or applied statistics or a relevant related area (e.g. epidemiology), or will have an MSc in Medical or Applied Statistics with subsequent academic research experiences. They will have experience in undertaking statistical analyses, including meta-analysis, and experience of writing publications for journals and presenting research at conferences.
