Thanks for your comment Darren.

I’d be interested to see if, once you have reviewed your stats, whether it has resulted in an increase in appointments for you.  I am also about to review stats over the next couple of months so I will comment again then.

Best wishes,

Lyn

Ditto here are Liverpool

In terms of success, I am currently doing a review of our stats, but as you pointed out Lyn, the TT has benefited applicant to interview (which is its aim), but does not seem to result in an increase in appointments.

Laurie, our HR team apply the same philosophy as Nikki has voiced below…  If they meet all of the essential criteria, they are guaranteed an interview.

This happens quite often (I’ve been involved in interviewing quite a lot myself) but looking at the equality stats, I’m not convinced it actually makes a difference when it comes to making the selection decision, the other candidates shortlisted have often been chosen for interview as they all meet the essential and preferred criteria and where the disabled applicant only meets the essential, they stand little chance at interview.  Of course the interview process is good experience and we always offer feedback.

Does anyone agree/ disagree that guaranteeing an interview for disabled candidates is worthwhile in the long run?  It would be good to see evidence pointing to the success of the scheme for disabled applicants – does anyone have anything they can share?

Kind regards,

Lyn

Dear Laurie

Our resourcing team ensure that people applying under the two ticks scheme are guaranteed an interview if they meet all of the essential criteria for a position.  They do not have three levels of scoring; applicants either meet the criteria required or they do not.

Kind regards,

Nikki

Subject: Guaranteed Interview Scheme - Scoring

Hi All,

Would anyone be happy to share the system they have in place for scoring the shortlisting process for the Guaranteed Interview Scheme?

We were going down the route of:

0 = does not meet criteria

1 = partially meets criteria

2 = fully meets criteria

Anyone else has something similar in place or have a different scoring system in place?

Regards,
