University is hosting a major international conference in June 2016:
Children and Young People in a Changing World: Action, Agency and Participation
Keynote Speakers include:
Mary Jane Kehily - Professor of Gender and Education in the Centre for Childhood and Youth Studies, Open University.
Jens Qvortrup - Professor of Sociology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Hasina Ebrahim - Professor of Early Childhood and Foundation Phase Education at University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa
Papers are invited that explore children's and young peoples' voices and/or challenge current policy and practice with regard to the following themes:
Educational policy and practice |
Social exclusion and marginalisation |
Social work policy and practice |
Political action and social change |
Children/young people in the family |
Young people, risk and leisure |
Childhood and youth in crisis |
Youth work policy and practice |
Abstracts of no more than 250 words should be
submitted to Dr. Dave Merryweather at [log in to unmask]
by 28th February 2016
Papers will be considered for publication in an edited book collection or, if relevant, for a special edition of the international journal Critical and Radical Social Work.
Abstracts should include a title and an outline of the central aims of the paper. Please also include the names of all authors/presenters and provide an indication of which theme the paper is related to.
