I quite like their plushie Penicillum for myself ☺

I had seen the talboys site myself, and have them bookmarked as one option.

Have you tried things like http://www.giantmicrobes.com/ ? Sometimes soft toy makers are cheaper.
Also http://www.talboys.fsnet.co.uk/FFungi/Fascinatingfungihomepage.htm prices start from £25 !
Encouraging people to make models on the day – you could use the lightweight modelling clay – like https://www.crafts4kids.co.uk/crayola-model-magic/b101

Hope this helps

You could try asking one of the students at Plymouths model making degree perhaps? They might do a commission for cheaper?

I don’t have a contact for their course co-ordinator but I know this is something we have done in the past

Can't say I do, but your firstborn sounds great :-)

Morning all,

As there has been talk of models lately I thought I would drop this out or advice. We are having science festival in the summer and I am going to be running the fungarium stand. What I am hoping to do is get some handle-able models of fungi to illustrate morphology and *hopefully* sex cell differences. Finding companies that make these or who can make them is a bit harder – or at least none have prices and as I don’t yet have a budget I can’t really plan ahead.

I have been in touch with http://www.10tons.dk/scientific who are keen to make some small sex cell models though I suspect it will cost my firstborn (who is a deaf cat of infuriating volume – so good luck there!)

Does anyone know of a good or passable maker of scientific or teaching models of something approaching fungi?

Thanks
