Cystadleuaeth Connect! 2016

Oes gennych chi awydd ennill £3000 gydag artist cyfoes arbennig yn dod i’ch lleoliad chi? Os oes, cofiwch gymryd rhan yng Nghystadleuaeth Connect! 2016 i gael cyfle i ennill artist a fydd yn dod i arwain digwyddiad Amgueddfeydd yn y Nos yn ystod yr ŵyl ym mis Hydref. Roedd Stori Caerdydd ac Amgueddfa Abertawe yn enillwyr yn 2014 ac Archifau Sir Ddinbych ar y rhestr fer.

Am y tro cyntaf erioed mae yna artist o Gymru, sef Bedwyr Williams -

“Gan fod gen i ddiddordeb ers tro mewn cyfnodau hanesyddol a phobl hynod, fe hoffwn i gynnal noson meic agored ar y Derwyddon. Dychmygwch fod Côr y Cewri yn glwb comedi dethol iawn mewn gwirionedd. Y gynulleidfa yw’r diddanwyr hefyd. Wedi’u gwisgo’n amaturaidd mewn dillad, barf a wig derwyddon, bydd rhai ohonyn nhw’n gallu mynd ar y llwyfan a pherfformio – unrhyw beth, canu, iodlan, darllen cof, llwyau, torri gwynt yn ddigrif neu ddynwared. Fe hoffwn agor rhyw fath o far neu gaffi derwyddol sy’n gwerthu byrbrydau a diodydd o oes yr arth a’r blaidd. Rwy’n credu bod rhywbeth arbennig mewn gwisgo fel pobl rydych yn gwybod ychydig iawn amdanyn nhw.”

Yr artistiaid eraill eleni yw Marcus Coates, Susan Hiller, Aowen Jin, Peter Liversidge, Karen Mirza a Brad Butler.

Pleidlais gyhoeddus yw Connect! i ddewis pa rai o chwe lleoliad diwylliannol yn y Deyrnas Unedig fydd yn ennill artist cyfoes arbennig i arwain eu digwyddiad Amgueddfeydd yn y Nos ym mis Hydref, ynghyd â bwrsariaeth o £3000. Bydd hyd at bum lleoliad yn cystadlu i ennill pob artist, a bydd y polau yn arwain at bob artist yn arwain digwyddiad yn eu lleoliad buddugol.

Mae pleidlais y cyhoedd yn rhoi cyfle gwych i estyn allan at y gynulleidfa a chyfathrebu gyda’ch cymuned leol a’r cyfryngau, gan eu gwahodd i fwrw pleidlais ar lein i ddod â’r artist o’ch dewis i’ch tref/dinas.

Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer ceisiadau yw dydd Gwener 11 Mawrth. I gael gwybod mwy a gwneud cais ewch i –

Connect! Competition 2016

Do you fancy winning £3000 and a top contemporary artist to come to your venue? If so, remember to enter the 2016 Connect! Competition to be in with a chance to win a top artist to come and lead a participatory Museums at Night event during the October festival. Cardiff Story and Swansea Museum were successful winners in 2014 and Denbighshire Archives made the shortlist.

For the first time ever there is a Welsh artist included, Bedwyr Williams -

“As I have a longstanding interest in mysterious historic periods and people I would like to hold a Druid open mic night. Imagine Stonehenge was actually a very niche comedy club. The audience are also the entertainers. Dressed up in badly made druid clobber, beards and wigs a selection of them will be able to get on stage and do a turn – anything, singing, yodelling, memory reading, spoons, funny burps or impressions. I’d also like to open some kind of druid bar or cafe selling prehistoric snacks and drinks. I think there is something special about dressing up as people you know very little about.”

The other artists this year are Marcus Coates, Susan Hiller, Aowen Jin, Peter Liversidge, Karen Mirza & Brad Butler.

Connect! is a public vote to choose which six UK cultural venues will win a top contemporary artist to lead their Museums at Night October event, along with a £3000 bursary. Up to five venues will compete to win each artist, and the polls will result in each artist leading a participatory event at their winning venue

The public vote offers a great audience development outreach opportunity to communicate with your local community and media, inviting them to cast online votes to bring your chosen artist to your town/city.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 11th March. For further information and to apply please visit –
