(sorry for cross-posting)

This is an event organised by MmITS in collaboration with Museums and Galleries Scotland's Wikimedian in Residence: Sara Thomas

Wikimedia UK (the collective responsible for projects including Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikiquote etc.) are working with cultural institutions including galleries, libraries, museums and archives (GLAM’s) to improve content and coverage of topics on Wikipedia.

Join us on this practical workshop to help you understand more about the benefits of open knowledge in a cultural context and how to edit Wikipedia.

Under Sara’s guidance, you will have the opportunity to edit or even create new articles on Wikipedia and gain an insight into the potential benefits for library services of contributing directly to this massive free online encyclopedia.
