** The UKeiG Early Career Award call for nominations closes Friday Mach 11th
**

Now in its second year, the UKeiG Early Career Award is offered to
early-career professionals who are both members of CILIP and who have no
more than five years work experience since gaining their professional
qualification The award is presented each year to an individual or small
team that has made the most inspirational or enterprising difference -
either in their workplace or to the wider profession. UKeiG is looking for a
level of professional commitment that has resulted in achievements beyond
what was expected of them in the workplace.

Nominations will be accepted from colleagues, management or from the
individual(s) concerned - although in the latter case it will be essential
to provide signed, third-party support and sponsorship.

Please send a short descriptive statement demonstrating the difference that
the nominee has made to their colleagues, users or the wider profession. The
most successful applications will be those providing clear documentary
support and evidence of the achievement.

The nominee must be a UK citizen, a member of CILIP (in the case of teams,
the majority should be CILIP members) and in the first five years of
his/her/their career.

A panel of judges will assess the nominations and an award of a trophy plus
a cheque for £1,000 will be made to the winner.

Nominations should reach UKeiG by March 11th 2016. Nominations and
supporting documentation should be sent to Chris Armstrong at

** UKeiG CILIP Conference Bursary call for applications closes Friday 25th
March **

UKeiG member? Want to go to the CILIP Conference but finding it too
expensive? Tell us which speaker is most likely to influence you and why and
you could win an award that covers the conference place and one night’s
accommodation, as well as the chance to meet a UKeiG Committee Member who
will host your visit to the Conference.

The Bursary place is open to all members of UKeiG and includes a
complimentary place on both days of the conference, as well as one nights’
accommodation at ibis Hotel on Tuesday 12 July and attendance at the drinks
reception at Brighton Pier. The winner will be expected to be active at the
conference (i.e. Tweet so that any members that cannot attend can follow the
proceedings) and to write a summary after the event for eLucidate. The place
could be awarded to someone who may not normally be able attend the
conference, perhaps for financial reasons, or who may not have heard about
conference before.
