As I don't work in a specific museum I can't fit into the survey but, as a GEM
member, I'd like to say that the title of the consultation is misleading.
"Formal Education" and then, a bit further on, "schools 3-19".

ACE (and museums) are missing a trick if they think that formal education is
limited to statutory 3-19 education. This survey is missing a golden opportunity
to examine what formal provision exists for ALL ages.

Are museums providing space and resources to deliver adult basic ("essential" if
you are in Wales) skills?

Are museums providing space and resources to deliver vocational craft courses
for the heritage sector?

Are museums liaising/collaborating with HE/FE sector learning providers to
deliver/enhance existing courses (engineering, fashion and design, geography etc
etc...)?

Museums are a piece of the formal learning jigsaw. ACE seems to have a few bits
missing and has lost the box lid.

*throws hands up in despair*
