Hello all,

We have had considerable interest from universities, colleges and skills providers in joining the Jisc student digital experience tracker pilot. A reminder that the closing date for submissions is Monday 29th February. To be considered for the pilot, we are requiring institutions to complete the planning form available from https://jisc-beta.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/planning-sheet

We are also compiling a set of FAQ's about the pilot which have arisen from inquires to date. This is available from http://bit.ly/1WJkMPS

The Student/Learner digital experience tracker enables universities, colleges and skills providers to:

* gather evidence from learners about their digital expectations and experience, and track changes over time

* make better informed decisions about the digital environment at an institutional level

* target resources for improving digital provision

* plan other research, data gathering and student engagement around digital issues

* demonstrate quality enhancement and student engagement to external bodies and to students themselves

The tracker is based on a concise set of questions which students will be invited to answer, which have been tested with HE and FE students for readability and ease of response. It builds on resources such as the Jisc/NUS Digital Student Experience benchmarking tool<http://repository.jisc.ac.uk/6140/1/Jisc_NUS_student_experience_benchmarking_tool.pdf>, and the Jisc Guide to Enhancing the Digital Student Experience<https://www.jisc.ac.uk/guides/enhancing-the-digital-student-experience>. The questions cover issues that are important to learners and/or to staff with a focus on the learning experience.
Institutions using the tracker will receive data in BOS<https://www.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/> (a widely used online survey service), a guidance sheet exploring how best to respond to what students are telling you, and links to relevant resources from Jisc.
Applying to join the pilot

To apply to be part of the pilot process you will need to complete a series of questions about your aims, your learner cohort, and how you will carry out the process. This is an opportunity to consider your overall strategy and current priorities for supporting your students' digital experience. This online form needs to be completed and submitted by Monday 29th February in order to be considered for the pilot. Please visit http://bit.ly/jisctrackerpilot for further information and support with the application process.
