Thanks Bob!

“When you say the RIS file had nn references in it, did you actually count this number in the text, or is this the number imported into EndNote?”

Both :) I counted the amount in the text file and saw how many came into EndNote. When they are in the .RIS file, they are formatted correctly to populate EndNote; the problem is that the ProQuest export is leaving random ones out, or not putting any in at all.

Hi Greg

Hopefully others can feed back about whether they are seeing similar results.

Just to clarify. When you say the RIS file had nn references in it, did you actually count this number in the text, or is this the number imported into EndNote?

Subject: Oddness with ProQuest theses exports

Dear all,

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this…

Have run a search in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses A&I and have got 94 hits. Have set the database to show 100 per page, selected all 94 and exported as a .RIS file.

However, the .RIS file only contains 42 records.

If I tell it to show 50 per page and just select 50, I get 26 of the 50.

Telling it to “Deselect items when done” gives a completely blank .RIS.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses: UK & Ireland seems to be completely broken when exported a .RIS file, and just sends a blank .RIS.

I’ve tried a different search in another ProQuest product and *that* worked as expected…

Super annoying as have systematic reviews to get completed.

Assuming this is a general issue, Bob, how would you advise getting this resolved? These are major databases that are vital for research – can TR bring pressure to bear on them?

Greg
