The Department of Sociology, Chair for Microsociology, at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a
(German public sector pay scheme TV-L 13, 100%)
for the duration of 3 years to begin as soon as possible (before October 2016). Annual salary is commensurate with experience and will range between about 48.800 and 60.000 Euro. The University of Tübingen is one of Europe’s oldest universities and in recent years has been very successful in the German federal and state governments’ Excellence Initiative.
Position
The successful applicant will be developing independent research projects as well as teaching in English or German in one of the following research areas of microsociology at the University of Tübingen:
· gender
and social inequalities
· family
processes
· child
development
· family
policy
· early
childhood education policy
· quantitative
methods
For candidates pursuing education-related
research, an affiliation with the international and interdisciplinary graduate
school ‘Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development’
(LEAD) is possible and desirable. In addition, the successful candidate
will have the opportunity to participate in the research projects "Early
childhood education and care quality in the Socio-Economic Panel (K2iD-SOEP)"
and "Early childhood education and care quality and child development:
an extension study of twins (K2iD-Twins)" co-directed by
Professor Pia Schober. The Department of Sociology offers a friendly, constructive,
