Hi Ashley,
This sounds interesting. How do you confirm that the person that enrolled with you is the same person as the person that applied to the SLC for funding?
Are you happy with their checking process? We find we have a lot of students that we can’t match records to their SLC application due to incorrect names or date of births compared to the ones we have on our system
(and have checked against passports etc when they complete enrolment).

Subject: Re: Do you request proof of ID for new UK and EU students?
Dear Jane,
We will be requesting that new Home/EU students not in receipt of SLC funding provide proof of their ID either after offer acceptance or prior to registration, we expect to do this by asking students to upload their documents via our student
portal (SITS e:Vision). Our registration system is also completely online and we only see international students face-to-face for visa and document clearance.
Since SLC funded students have already had to prove their identity and residency status as part of their student finance application we take confirmation that the students are in receipt of a student loan as reasonable evidence. The introduction
of PG Loans will hopefully be of benefit in this regard as well.
For international students, our Admissions team see them all face-to-face for visa and documentation clearance prior to them having access to the online registration system.
Best wishes,
Ashley

Subject: Do you request proof of ID for new UK and EU students?
Hi
I would be very interested to hear if other institutions require new UK and EU students to provide proof of identification as part of their enrolment, registration or induction process? Currently at Edge Hill University we have a two staged
enrolment process, the first stage being online with the second stage being face to face when students are required to provide proof of ID. Any feedback would be gratefully received.
Many Thanks
