Subject: Xanthochromia
testing.
Having had to send our CSF samples away for analysis for
several months, we are contemplating investing in new software and computer in
order to bring them back in house.
I’d be grateful to hear of the practice of other
laboratories.
Do you do them in house or send them away?
Do you offer the service 24 hours a day? If not, what
do you offer?
What do you state as a turn-round time?
Who performs the assay? (I know of a laboratory where they
are assayed by BMS staff during the day and junior medical Pathology staff out
of hours.)
Any other valid (and repeatable) comments would be
appreciated.
Michael
