Fleurs Sauvages
Afternoon...I hope it's okay to post this here in an email to WAN, of which I am a member....T

....are there any keen WALKERS here who would be interested to take part in this fundraising event for a charity, Ehlers Danlos UK, that is, literally very close to my heart, and most other bits and pieces of my physical being!!!  Especially my ability to now be able to walk.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is a genetic condition, that compromises the structure of all of the connective tissue throughout the body...something I wasn't diagnosed with until I was 48...though would have had obvious symptoms of, throughout my life...the walk is this May, between London and Brighton

Description:
Theres 100km of paths, trails and expert support alongside varying paths on the way to Brighton from London Richmond. A richmond start - Journey alongside the River Thames down to Kingston. Then a semi urban stretch towards the 25km rest stop. Beyond is the picturesque views from the North Downs and then on through the Surrey and Sussex countryside. After a rejuvinating hot meal you stride out from the 56km "Half Way point" with head torches and glow sitcks alight in the night (for walkers!). At 80km - another major rest stop welcomes - and then its a push up and over the magnificent south downs. You can now feel the sea air and soon the home straight is in sight with fantastic views of the Brighton coast; this is a moment to savour.
What is included?
  • 24 Hour continuous challenge  - most will do it in 20 – 30 hours
  • Free hot food at 56km, 80km and 100km ( 25km stop for a packed lunch)
  • Free snacks and drinks at all main and mid-point rest stops
  • Paced Groups if you want to join up with others for the night stages.
  • Pace walkers, medics, doctors, massage and vehicle to support you all of the way
