E-Collections Management Workshop:

This workshop will discuss and explain the fundamentals of e-resources collection development and management. The presentations will focus on electronic collection types that are central elements of digital libraries today and also viewed as areas of growth for the future. The practical session will provide delegates with an opportunity to practice, using the tools and Collections discussed during this event.

Licensing E-resources for Collaborative Partners on Overseas Campuses:

This topic will be of interest to library staff from HEIs who have, or are developing relationships with overseas institutions.  The objective is to raise awareness of the e-licensing issues, pitfalls and limitations, that library staff must look out for when planning or resourcing courses for overseas campuses and collaborative partners, to ensure that HEI’s do not fall foul of copyright law and applicable licensing agreements.

Visit to the Wiener Library for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide:

The Wiener Library was founded in December 1933 in direct response to the Nazis coming to power in Germany. Working from Amsterdam, its remit was to collect and disseminate accurate information about Nazi policies and their cumulative persecution of Jews, anti-fascists and others deemed undesirable. Today the Library has a unique collection of material from the time, including significant holdings of rare ephemera, and a growing collection of material on comparative genocide.

Sharing best practice in Library Performance Indicators:

Join cpd25 for an afternoon looking at best practice in setting and monitoring KPIs and making effective use of them alongside our Results Indicators and other metrics that libraries collect. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion with workshops focussing on using, setting and measuring KPIs as well as considering accountability.

From Management to Leadership (3 day course):

Are you already in a management role, but would like to develop your skills with a view to moving into a more senior role? Would you also like to hear about the experiences of senior managers who currently work in libraries? This course will help you define the differences between leadership and management, cultivate a strategic approach, develop skills, self-confidence and resilience, as well as share ideas and experiences.  Each day will feature a guest speaker, as well as practical exercises and case studies. This course also presents an excellent opportunity to forge long-lasting professional relationships.

Marketing Yourself; Transferable Skills:

This course provides a great opportunity to think more about the life skills we have learnt and to consider how to use them to further career prospects and choices, whether we remain in our current organisation or move to a new organisation or a different sector. Aimed at staff from all areas and grades of library work, the course offers a new outlook for individuals to take forward when considering their professional aspirations.

Moving into Management:

Progressing into management is both exciting and daunting. Suddenly you are responsible for directing and managing your peer group. You may get less opportunity to focus on your specialism and now be expected to direct your attention toward helping others to get things done. How do you harness the power of a team? Motivate others and deal with challenges? This interesting and engaging two-day course will provide an insight as to what it means to be a manager.
