The National Archives, Kew   Visit 4/3/2016

 

The tour will now last from 2pm to 4:30pm and the following details have been added;

Attendees should meet with David Smith at the entrance to the National Archives between 13:45 - 14:00.  David is a Head of Profession for KIM who has Departmental Records Officer experience at a senior level.

This is a reference focused tour of the reading rooms including the Library with the opportunity to ask Professionals about the problems they have faced and how they have overcome them. Attendees will receive a tour and explanation of the public facilities/research resources and can have the document ordering process explained to them as well.  To prepare for the visit, I have included the link to the National Archives site: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/visit/default.htm

Additional tour of the exhibition area  where attendees will be able to view the Keeper’s Gallery – The National Archives Museum will occur at the end of the tour which shows documents from the Battle of Agincourt, along with a selection of documents from Shakespeare’s time.  Networking opportunities will occur in the cafeteria afterwards.

 

Nearest Tube stations: Kew Gardens - served by the District tube line and the London Overground line, and Kew Bridge, served by South West Trains.
