Good afternoon,

I thought it would be of benefit to your members to get in touch regarding the Victoria and Albert Museum's new strand of professional training and museum skills courses. We have a number of new courses beginning in spring 2016, some of which could be of benefit to your network.

I have listed them below. I would be very keen to hear your thoughts on these courses, and any suggestions your network may have for other skill sharing opportunities you would like to see in the sector. Our new courses include:

The Enterprising Museum
29 February - 4 March
Led by V&A award-winning experts, this course provides an insight into how your museum can develop and monetise products which complement the visitor experience

Innovative Learning

A new UK version of our acclaimed international course, this course provides a unique opportunity to develop your learning programmes for all audiences

Handling Museum Objects
11 February
This new, one-day workshop, led by V&A conservators and technicians, demonstrates the best and safest ways to handle different materials and a variety of objects

Photographing Museum Objects
18 March
Led by the V&A's specialist photographic team, this course demonstrates the best ways to record every angle of the most complicated objects, large and small

How to Work with Artists and Designers in Museums and Collections
4 March
This one day workshop will examine different ways to work with contemporary artists and designers in residencies, education projects, commissions and more

How to Work with Designers and Architects in Museums and Collections

Looking at live and recent V&A projects, we explore the relationship between the Museum and world class designers and architects through a range of different projects

You can find more information on these, and any upcoming courses at www.vam.ac.uk/cpd<http://www.vam.ac.uk/cpd>.

I very much look forward to hearing any feedback from your network.
