The HEA's lunchtime webinar series continues in 2016, kicking off on Wednesday 13 January, 12:30-14:00, with 'Professional development and academic careers: What needs to change?' This webinar launches three new pieces of HEA research:

· Shifting Landscapes: Meeting the staff development needs of the changing academic workforce

· Defining and supporting the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL): A sector wide study

· Rewarding educators and education leaders in research-intensive universities.

The round table discussion will focus on different aspects of professional development, asking how differentiated career pathways for academic staff affect their opportunities for CPD. The speakers will be: Dr Sue Eccles, Senior Principal Academic, Bournemouth University; Dr Dilly Fung, Director, UCL Centre for Advancing Learning and Teaching; Professor Joëlle Fanghanel, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development & Scholarship), University of West London; Holly Smith, Lecturer, Institute of Education.
