If there was a dropped kerb then parking alongside it so that you impede access is treated as an obstruction for which a penalty notice can be issued.  There doesn't have to be a sign stating there's an entrance in use.  If a fixed penalty notice is issued by the Police then, depending on the circumstances, you could also get three points on your licence for it too! 

Better not do it again, eh?
