The Department of Global & Sociocultural Studies (GSS) at Florida International University invites applications for a tenure-track position in
Human Geography at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2016. The department seeks applicants specializing in the cultural, social, or political-economic aspects of climate change, with a specific focus on the impacts
of sea level rise. Geographic area and research topic are open, but we are particularly interested in research interests that relate sea level rise to human mobility themes such as immigrant communities, human migration, community displacement, and diasporic
communities. The position offers opportunities to collaborate in campus-wide initiatives such as the Sea Level Solutions Center (http://slsc.fiu.edu/
