We are currently looking for a highly motivated PhD. student for our newly established group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Queen Mary University of London, UK. Our work involves biochemical and structural studies on mechanisms of bacterial secretion with relevance to bacterial biofilm formation and virulence related to disease. The PhD project will comprise biochemical and structural studies on the type II secretion system (for further information see http://www.findaphd.com/search/ProjectDetails.aspx?PJID=70512&LID=1316). We offer excellent research opportunities and a stimulating environment for research in structural biology.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated student with a strong interest in structural biology and prior experience in protein biochemistry. Additional experience in molecular biology, NMR and/or protein crystallisation would be an asset.

Informal enquiries should be addressed to Dr. James Garnett ([log in to unmask]). Applications should be submitted online (https://mysis.qmul.ac.uk/urd/sits.urd/run/siw_ipp_lgn.login?process=siw_ipp_app&code1=RFQM-F1ZF-09&code2=0007&code3=GUEST) and further details of the application process can be found here: http://www.sbcs.qmul.ac.uk/postgraduate/research/How%20to%20apply/The%20application%20process/index.html
