Archive Business Manager (part-time, 21 hours per week, Fixed Term 18 months)

 

Location:              Home (South/South West, within easy reach of Devizes, Wiltshire)

Salary:                   £40,000 to £44,000 per annum (pro rata)

To help Royal Voluntary Service develop and find a sustainable future for our nationally and internationally important archive we are seeking to recruit an Archive Business Manager to join our Heritage team.

 

A highly regarded national charity with over 75 years of proud history, we are dedicated to helping older people stay active and independent and support over 100,000 older people each month all over Britain. The charity has a turnover in excess of £70 million, over 35,000 volunteers and around 1,600 employees with a focus on delivering services in local communities. Ambitions are high, with the desire to ensure that in a rapidly ageing population, there is support in all communities across the UK. Through the power of volunteering we will help our older people continue as active, contributing members of society.

 

The Role

This fixed contract, part time role starting in April 2016 will take the lead in delivering a costed business case for the rehousing, and development of our Archive and Heritage collections. The role will involve working in co-operation with the Royal Voluntary Service Archivist, independent consultants and other members of employees across the organisation to deliver a challenging package of project elements.

 

This will include:

                -Finding an pragmatic solution to the appropriate housing of the collection

                -Building and developing relationships with third party organisations to create beneficial partnerships for Royal Voluntary Service and the Archive

                -Working to improve the visibility and use of the collection within the charity and help to better integrate our heritage into the charity’s offer.

 

The successful candidate will have:

                -A Bachelor’s Degree

                -A senior background in the heritage sector

                -Experience of project management and business case development

                -Excellent presenting and communicators skills

                -Excellent networking skills and be able to easily engage others

                -The ability to work independently and remotely.
