We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and qualified, or soon to be qualified, Archivist to join our ambitious Archives & Collections team. As a key part of the team you will help to deliver our public service, make contributions towards service and collections development, and you will participate in the full range of professional duties including engagement activities. As well as managing a Senior Archives & Collections Assistant, you will help develop a volunteer programme in conjunction with the other Archivists and Conservator.
You will have had previous responsibilities within an Archives department where you will have gained experience of collections development, including accessioning, cataloguing, and public service functions. You will be integral to our preparation for our accreditation application, and, day-to-day, you will contribute to the administration and delivery of our busy public service.
To be successful, you will be able to work flexibly, understanding the requirement to change priorities according to the needs of the service, you will be comfortable working as part of the wider collections team, and you will be keen to participate in the variety of activities undertaken at the Library of Birmingham.
