Dear all I am writing to invite archivists, owners of archives and users of archives in Scotland to submit short articles for the spring 2016 edition of the Scottish Records Association (SRA) newsletter, Retour. The SRA is a registered Scottish charity, set up to promote the care and use of archives in Scotland. Members (individual and institutional) include historians, researchers, archivists, private owners of archives and universities and colleges in Scotland, the United Kingdom and throughout the world. Currently there are approximately 280 individual and 70 institutional members. Retour is distributed to all members twice a year in the spring and the autumn. Articles on any issues relating to Scottish archives are very welcome. These might include personal research, exhibitions, new developments in the archive world and/or comments thereon, help required etc… from individuals and Archive offices. Articles should be between 100 and 500 words in length and images (with captions) are much appreciated. Please note that Retour is printed in black & white. Please note that articles and illustrations will be included on the SRA website (www.scottishrecordsassociation.org) and image permissions should include online publication. Please send articles and images to me at the National Records of Scotland (see contact details below) before Friday 12th February 2016. The spring edition of Retour will be distributed to SRA members (and copies sent to contributors) in early April 2016. SRA members may wish to take advantage of the opportunity to publicise new books and forth-coming exhibitions, conferences and other events (free of charge) in Ye Virtual Tea-roome.
