Greetings from the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at the
American University of Beirut.

 The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the American University of Beirut
currently seeks for its Department of Epidemiology and Population Health a
candidate with a doctoral degree in Biostatistics or Statistics, at the
rank of assistant, associate or full professor depending on qualifications
and experience. The Department is in the process of developing a Master’s
Program in Biostatistics, and biostatisticians/ statisticians in all areas
are encouraged to apply. Applicants with strong methodological training
and/or experience are preferred.


The successful candidate will contribute to the:

 teaching of basic and advanced biostatistics courses, both theoretical
and applied, to undergraduate and graduate students in public health,
biostatistics and medicine as well as to the mentoring of students

 expansion of gradauate education at FHS at the Masters and Doctoral
levels

 development of methodological and applied research, collaborating with
other biostatisticians, public health or medical professionals

 outreach programs at the Faculty, participating in professional service


Currently, the Department offers an MPH degree in Epidemiology and
Biostatistics and an MS Degree in Epidemiology and is in the process of
developing a Masters Degree in Biostatistics and a PhD in Epidemiology as
part of the Graduate Public Health Program (GPHP) at FHS. The GPHP has been
accredited by the US Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) since
