North of England Consortium for Arts and Humanities: up to 12 fully-funded PhD studentships

The North of England Consortium for Arts and Humanities (Bradford, Hull, Huddersfield, Leeds Beckett, Sheffield Hallam and Teesside universities) invites high-quality proposals for up to 12 PhD studentships tenable from 1 October 2016. Candidates apply to the Consortium and if successful are admitted to the member university that has the most appropriate supervisory expertise, with specialist co-supervision provided by another consortium partner. All NECAH students undertake common cohort-based training in research impact, public engagement, entrepreneurship and digital humanities, and have access to facilities and research support at the other Consortium members.

The Consortium invites research proposals in the following subject areas:
Archaeology
History
Communication, Cultural & Media Studies
Film
Digital Arts & New Media
Art & Design
Drama, Dance & Performance
Music
English Language & Literature
Linguistics
Gender Studies
Creative Writing

The Studentships are open to Home or EU applicants holding good undergraduate and Master’s degrees (or equivalent qualifications). Studentships can be held either full-time or part-time. They include payment of fees and an annual stipend (currently £14,057) for three years of full-time study.
