We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the
Research Data Service team at the University of Bristol on a fixed term
contract until the 31st December 2016 to cover a staff leave of absence.
The Research Data Librarian post will be responsible for contributing to
the planning of research data management support, advice and training to
raise awareness and understanding amongst research and professional
services staff, with a particular responsibility for the science and
engineering faculties.

The post-holder will apply expert information management and research data
knowledge to deliver a research data management training programme for
researchers, PGRs and professional services staff within the University.
They will also provide support to researchers with regard to the creation
of data management plans and the publication and sharing of data.

The post-holder is expected to demonstrate high levels of autonomy, take
personal responsibility for appropriate decision-making within the remit of
the role and develop a high profile and strong collaborative network across
the institution.

The post requires working knowledge of research practices, a science or
engineering background is desirable.
