Hello

The Freshwater Biological Association was partly flooded during storm Desmond over the weekend. Some of our wet samples and specimens suffered from the flooding. Particularly affected was a series of boxes containing fish scales, and stored in three different ways:

-          On microscope slides, stored in mounted leather boxes (date: early 1908s). These boxes are very wet;

-          On glass, kept in envelopes, themselves kept in wooden boxes (date: early 1990s);

- - in small envelopes, with the fish scales slid into the enveloped. These envelopes generally indicate date and place of collection (1912-1922). There are 23 boxes of such envelopes.

I would be very grateful for any advice on how to dry and preserve these fish scales.

Many thanks
Isabelle
