There are likely to be a number of ESRC studentships available at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for social science projects that relate to health and medicine via the Bloomsbury DTC http://bloomsburydtc.ac.uk/ . These may be on topics that prospective supervisors have suggested, or applicant's own ideas refined through discussion with a potential supervisor. Please see the link below for further detals, including the two-stage selection process. Last year we awarded 6 studentships within the Health & Wellbing cluster for PhDs in medical sociology, medical anthropology and health economics.
