VACANCY NO. FH/ MS 2/2015:

Duties: The successful candidate will devise classes, teach and assess students inradio skills (practical journalism and drama) at introductory, intermediate andadvanced levels. Ability to also devise classes, teach and assess on one ormore of the following would be a distinct advantage: practical newspaper andmagazine writing and design; television interviewing, presentation, drama andproduction; techniques of digital media; public relations and advertising; filmand video; theoretical media studies (e.g. law, ethics, sociology, developmentcommunication).

Requirements: 

Lecturer:Applicants should have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in Media Studies orrelated fields; (ii) a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) show evidence of engagement in research and service;(iv) a relevant PhD, teaching experience at a University or comparableinstitution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be addedadvantages.
Senior Lecturer:Applicants should have: (i) at least a Masters’ Degree in ¬ Media Studies orrelated fields; (ii) a relevant Bachelors’ Degree with at least a 2(i) pass /GPA of at least 3.6; (iii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at auniversity or comparable institution; (iv) a good and sustained record ofresearch and publications with at least 6 publications, 4 of which are peerreviewed journal articles; (v) lead and/or single author in at least 2 refereedjournal articles or book chapters; (vi) applicants should demonstrate evidence ofservice; (vii) a relevant PhD and  demonstration of effective academicleadership will be added advantages. The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain adetailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, datespublished, name(s) of publishers and name(s) of co-authors if any. Publicationsshould be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereedjournals, chapters in books, etc.
