Subject: Exchange with China, anyone?

Dear All,

I am a former teacher of Japanese (Notts PGCE) teaching English Language Acquisition at Keystone Academy,  a new bilingual MYP/IB school in Beijing, and I am looking out for a UK school whose students of Mandarin might be interested in exchanging emails/wechat/skype calls with students in China.

In the first instance, it would be just correspondence, but if a connection blossoms, so to speak, an actual exchange could be possible in the medium term. Anybody interested?

I am also frantically trying to acquire Mandarin, and hope to crack HSK5 before my return to Europe in summer 2017; can anybody give me advice on how to go about seeking a job teaching Mandarin in the UK system and whether HSK5 is considered sufficient?  I have JLTP1 with 6 years GCSE and IB Language B experience, and uncertified Spanish at around C1.
Thanks all

Duncan Gray
