italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies *Call for papers | Arabeschi n. 8 (July 2016)* *Arabeschi*’s *eighth periodical issue* is expected in *July** 2016*. Articles are accepted in either English or Italian and should not normally exceed 7,000 words in length including endnotes. Contributions should be accompanied by a minimum of three images and a maximum of five (.jpg extension, 300 dpi) provided with relevant captions and the appropriate copyright license. *Arabeschi* will not cover costs for the reproduction of images protected by copyright. The deadline for submission is *15 April 2015*. Authors are expected to send contributions along with an abstract (c. 250 words) and a short CV (in both English and Italian) as .doc file attachments to the address *[log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]>*. The object of the email should include the author’s name and the title of the proposed contribution. Authors should also indicate for which section (ekphrasis; et et; in forma di) they are submitting their proposal. Accepted manuscripts should conform to the *format guidelines* <http://www.arabeschi.it/uploads/pdf/official/guidelines%20for%20authors%20en.pdf> provided by the editorial board. All manuscripts submitted to *Arabeschi* are peer-reviewed according to a double-blind peer review process. Both external referees and authors will be kept anonymous. Relying on the referees’ comments, the editorial board will make a final decision on the acceptability of contributions. Authors will be sent a detailed form with referees’ comments and the final decision, which can be: a) Accept submission; b) Revisions required; c) Decline submission. *Reviews* Authors proposing a review should submit the text (not more than 800 words in length) as .doc file attachment to the email address *[log in to unmask]* <[log in to unmask]>. The object of the email should include the title of the book, film, theatrical show or exhibition that is proposed for review. Each review should normally include an image and five tags. In the case of reviews of theatrical shows all the relevant credits should be mentioned. The editorial board will notify authors of the acceptance of their proposal in two weeks’ time. Selected reviews will be published in the homepage of the journal, continuously updated, and could be released also in the regular issue. *Call for papers | Arabeschi n. 8 (Luglio 2016)* L'*ottavo* *numero* di Arabeschi è previsto per *luglio 2016*. Saranno pubblicati saggi in lingua italiana o inglese, della lunghezza massima di *40.000 caratteri* (spazi inclusi), illustrati da almeno tre immagini (fino a un massimo di sei) in formato .jpeg con una risoluzione minima di 300 dpi. Le immagini dovranno essere accompagnate da didascalie e da un’autorizzazione alla riproduzione “per uso di critica, a scopi di ricerca scientifica e con finalità illustrative e non commerciali”, che l’autore del saggio avrà cura di richiedere ai soggetti eventualmente detentori dei diritti. Chi volesse proporre un saggio per il sesto numero dovrà inviare entro il *15 aprile 2016* il contributo, l’abstract in italiano e in inglese (max 1500 caratteri spazi inclusi) e una breve scheda dell’autore (in italiano e in inglese) come allegati in formato .doc all’indirizzo *[log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]>*, con in oggetto il cognome dell’autore e il titolo, indicando anche la sezione (ekphrasis, et et, in forma di) pertinente ai contenuti dello studio. La redazione del testo va uniformata alle *norme editoriali* della rivista (scarica il pdf dal link a piè di pagina). Tutti i saggi verranno sottoposti a peer review da parte di almeno due referees esterni alla rivista, secondo il sistema double blind. Il giudizio di ogni referee potrà essere: a) positivo, b) positivo con richiesta di modifiche, c) negativo. Gli autori in ogni caso riceveranno la scheda di valutazione della rivista con il giudizio e le motivazioni della decisione entro un mese dall’invio della proposta. *Recensioni* Per proporre una recensione è sufficiente inviare il testo (max *5000* *caratteri* spazi inclusi) come allegato .doc all’indirizzo *[log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]>*, con in oggetto l’indicazione del titolo del libro, del film, dello spettacolo o della mostra che si intende recensire. Ogni recensione dovrà contenere almeno un’immagine e cinque tag; nel caso di recensioni teatrali l’autore dovrà inserire a fine testo i credits dello spettacolo. Nel giro di un paio di settimane la redazione provvederà a contattare gli autori per confermare l’accettazione delle proposte.
