Dear colleagues,
apologies for multiple postings.

The abstract deadline for the GSA Cord section meeting (April 4-6, 2016) in Ontario, California is fast approaching: Jan. 5, 2016. Please consider submitting an abstract to our session

T2. Magma Sources to Volcanoes-Exploring Processes, Volumes, Storage, and Interconnectivity in Continental Arcs.

This session welcomes contributions from various disciplines investigating the nature of magma plumbing systems across the vertical extent of continental arcs. Discussions on the importance of magma processes and their time and length scales at different crustal levels, and magma volumes and interconnectivity of different magma storage levels are encouraged.

Conveners: Vali Memeti, Cal State Fullerton, Robinson Cecil, Cal State Northridge, Adam Ianno, Juniata College, Ana María Martínez Ardila, Loma Linda University

Please also consider signing up for a pre-meeting field trip April 1-3
Arc Magmatism, Tectonics, and Tempos in Mesozoic Arc Crustal Sections of the Peninsular and Transverse Ranges, Southern California led by Scott Paterson (Univ. of So Cal), Adam Ianno (Juniata College), Vali Memeti (Cal State Fullerton), Ben Clausen (Loma Linda University) and Josh Schwartz (Cal State Northridge)

This trip will examine a west (shallow) to east (midcrustal) transect through the Mesozoic Peninsular Ranges Batholith, followed by sections in the Transverse Ranges (deeper crust), ending in a tilted crustal section exposed in Joshua Tree National Park. Arc tectonic and magmatic tempos, vertically changing processes in arc systems, and slab tear magmatism will be important themes.
