Dear all,

Just a final reminder that the Tectonics Study Group meeting will be co-hosted by University College London and Birkbeck University between the 6th –8th of January 2016.

https://tsg2016.wordpress.com/

We have three exciting invited speakers:

  * Prof. Claudia Trepmann (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich)
     * Long-term dissolution-precipitation creep at low stresses and transient high- stress crystal plasticity of quartz in the subduction zone
  * Prof. Dan McKenzie (Cambridge University)
     * The deep structures of continents
  * Prof. Tom Rockwell (San Diego State University)
     * Is the Southern San Andreas Fault Really Overdue For a Large Earthquake or Just Late in the Cycle?

While the deadline has passed for abstract submissions, there are a limited number of places available if you wish to register to attend the conference @ https://www.geolsoc.org.uk/Tectonic-Studies-Group-Annual-Meeting-2016 and closes when full. Note, there is also an option for day attendance only.

The full conference program can be found here: https://tsg2016.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/conference_programme_final1.pdf

The conference will cover field, experimental and theoretical studies with a specific focus towards the following themes :

  *   Geodesy and structural geology
  *   Palaeoseismology and earthquake geology
  *   Fractures and fluid flow
  * Fault rocks and the brittle-ductile transition
  *   Regional tectonics

Best regards,

The convenors,
