Hello,

In the presence of deformation during syn-kinematic metamorphic reactions, grain size definitely does not always increase. We have studied several examples of this phenomena in granulites of the Athabasca granulite terrane in Saskatchewan that equilibrated at temperatures >750 C and at pressures > 0.9 GPa. I can send you some references as PDFs, if you are interested.

With best regards,

Greg

Hello Everyone,

Does grain size always increases  with increasing metamorphic grade?

Thank you
