Hi All,Me again. I think I’ve ID'ed the New York school I was thinking about. It's called the New York City Museum School and its website is: http://www.nycmuseumschool.org and wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Museum_SchoolI’m not really up on US education terminology but it seems to be for 9th grade up (14/15 years old? High School?) but happy to corrected by my US colleagues.PaddyPaddy McNulty

Subject: Re: School hosted in a museum?Hi, everyone.Bank Street College of Education in New York City has an excellent graduate program in Museum Education —- https://www.bankstreet.edu —- my guess is the school you have in mind is attached to Bank Street. In Washignton, DC, the Smithsonian Museum runs SEEC - Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center. It’s a program for kids ages 6 weeks to 6 years on-site in several of the museums. I wrote the beginning curriculum for this program almost 30 years ago so, of course, I think it’s a pretty good program. The first director was Dr. Sharon Shaffer who is now a professor at the University of Virginia. She also lectures and consults all around the world on the subject of teaching with objects.Kimberlee Kiehl, PhDThe Washington, DC Public Schools have several elementary schools that are called Museum Magnet Schools. In these schools the students spend as much time exploring the local museums as they do in their school rooms.DC Public Schools

There is a museum learning based school in New York (I've forgotten the name sorry) and this was the inspiration for The Langley Academy (near Slough) - http://www.langleyacademy.org. It places learning from museums as part of the core ethos of the school and they have changing temporary exhibitions in their atrium, and a Head of Museum Learning Jenny Blay - who is very nice so do get in contact with her if you want to know more.
I wrote some case studies on their work a couple of years ago that are attached.
