Hello All,

Please, I have question related to Bayesian modeling using BUGS.

(1) In my Bayesian network, the continuos random variables were modeled as a normal distribution. Mu and precision, parameters of normal distribution, were set to some initial value. These random variables represent some predisposing factors to patient suffering from a disease, such as age and number of years of education.
(2) In the same Bayesian network, I have also a categorial random variable conditionally dependent on such predisposing factors. This random variable represents the probability of patient having the disease of interest.

The question is: how could I model a causal relation between a continuous random variable and a categorical random variable in a Bayesian network. I would appreciate any help.

Best regards,
