Subject: Project Archivist - John Innes Centre

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Archivist to develop and professionalise the management of the Historical Collections housed at the John Innes Centre and to assist with championing the collections within the Centre and wider research community.

The objectives of the work will be developing a suite of acquisitions/collections policies and manuals for the Centre’s Historical Collections and helping embed best practice and to complete a started project of cataloguing and conservation in the Bateson and Darlington Libraries at JIC, working to a list of actions. The post holder will also assist in the updating of a disaster plan for the Historical Collections.

A further objective is to scope a system to improve the transfer of current science records from across the enlarged site into the historical archives.

If time allows, the post will involve cataloguing further remaining collections and dealing with copyright issues.
