Vacancy: Functional Director for Access, UK Data Service

 

This position offers an exciting, high profile opportunity to undertake research and development, and to help shape the data access landscape, with new communities of users in mind. We are seeking a Functional Director who will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of the Access and Resource Discovery functions of the UK Data Service. 

The Functional Director will join the UK Data Service Functional Director team and will provide leadership, setting the direction and priorities for access to data.

We’re looking for candidates who have experience in project/strategic management within the UK research environment. The successful applicant will have an appreciation and knowledge of the social science landscape as well as experience of the UK research environment. Experience in management, preferably in a research or academic setting, with strong motivational skills and ability to engender and manage effective teamwork are essential.

 

This is a full-time fixed-term position until 30 September 2017. The UK Data Archive is ISO 27001 certified for Information Security Management. Due to the nature of the work in the UK Data Archive applicants who are offered employment will be subject to a vetting procedure before the appointment is confirmed.
