Research Assistant in Statistical Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

We wish to appoint a statistical epidemiologist to work on the analysis of large-scale UK electronic health records data within a large and thriving research group. The post will focus on two important and topical studies in cardiovascular disease epidemiology. Firstly, a study of the impact of lay media coverage and new NICE guidance on statin use, funded by the British Heart Foundation. Secondly, a Wellcome Trust/Royal Society funded-study investigating cardiovascular disease outcomes among survivors of cancer: a major health issue of growing importance that has been under-researched to date. The appointee will also have the opportunity to contribute to studies in other clinical areas within our group. There are also opportunities for relevant applied methodological research. The post offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting edge epidemiological research projects, to build skills in electronic health records research, and to build up a record of high-impact publications.

The post is fixed term for 3 years.
