Director of Statistical Consultancy Services

Grade 9: £45,066 – £52,219 with a discretionary range to £57,047 p.a.

 

Applications are invited for a full time Director of Statistical Consultancy Services starting from 1st March 2016 or as soon as possible therefore. The position is fixed-term for three years.

You will manage the Department's statistical consultancy services, contributing to establishing the strategic direction of the Department's provision of consultancy services and setting up of the consultancy services team. You will provide statistical advice, analysis and interpretation of results to external organisations and develop ideas for generating further income based on outcomes of consultancy. You will work with ISIS Innovation Ltd to build up contacts and deliver contracts with industry; liaise with clients and proactively identify new opportunities and potential projects.


You will hold a PhD (or have equivalent research experience) in Statistics, Machine Learning or a related field with significant post-qualification consultancy experience, preferably in industry. You will possess broad knowledge of the statistical methods and applications needed to lead and develop the programmes and methodologies of the consultancy team. You will have the ability to communicate engagingly both in writing and orally and have the ability to build, lead and motivate a team.
