Dear colleagues, The first opportunity to attend our free copyright workshop 'An Introduction to Orphan Works for Archivists' will take place this Friday (13 November 2015, 13:30-16:30) in Perth. This workshop will focus on the way in which new Orphan Works legislation impacts the work of the archivist. In addition to providing attendees with an introduction to the Orphan Works licensing scheme and exception, the workshop will include group exercises based on real archive collections to demonstrate the impact and application of the legislation. We will also explore the relevance and limitations of adopting a risk-managed approach to copyright compliance when digitising archive material for online access.
