Morning all,
A quick question about the retention of Initial Notices. Approval is needed for some building work. Approval can be obtained from either the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) or the
private sector by an Approved Inspector. If the latter, the Approved Inspector and the commissioning person should jointly notify the LABC of where the building work will be carried out.
As the LABC is not responsible for the approval, I’m hoping these Notices can be destroyed after a short period of time, e.g. FYE + 2 years.
I’d be interested to know how long other authorities are keeping these records for.
Many thanks,
Mark
