Are those who don't or cannot drive excluded from this position? Also 'license' is probably better spelled as 'licence' for British English.Cheers,Andrew**********************************************************************______Andrew GarrattTraining and consultancy in better communications with numbers and wordsWeb: www.andrewgarratt.comEmail: [log in to unmask]

At the Science and Technology Facilities Council I am currently recruiting for a new Press Officer as 12 month maternity cover for one of my team, based at our Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire. If you know of anyone who might be interested in this role do please point them to the further information at:
http://www.topcareer.jobs/Vacancy/irc211357_6127.aspx
The role would be a great opportunity for a confident out-going sci-comms professional looking for their next step up in their career. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to tell the wider world about the incredible science the UK is involved in at our RAL based Central Laser Facility, Super-computing dept, RAL Space and ISIS neutron beamline facilities. In addition they will get the chance to help promote the UK involvement in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and numerous other international projects involving ESA, ESO, ESS, NASA and many others.
Main Duties will include
Proactively research, write and issue media briefings on the whole of STFC science and technology with the focus on selling in our stories to the media
Assist with STFC press briefings/conferences as required
Respond to media enquiries by providing direct information or contacts and look after media visits (film crews, journalists) to our RAL site
Advise on, and plan, promotional opportunities for STFC
If potential applicants have any questions prior to applying then they are very welcome to email me at [log in to unmask]
In the meantime they can get some idea of the breadth of science that we cover here:
