Dear Mersenners,

as an historian of medicine, I recently got questions from a sociologist about the history of Streptococcus group A (the discovery, important areas affected by the discovery, involved scientists and institutions et cetera). Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the history of bacteriology, nor the sub-group of Streptococcus A.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to search for relevant information?
