After hosting a two day conference on The Economist the ECONPUBLIC project turns to another emblematic publication, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, colloquially known as FAZ. Founded in 1949, the FAZ was one of the most influential publications in the German Federal Republic as a newspaper of record and of analysis. One of the FAZ's signal features was its forceful coverage of political economy. Published from the heart of German finance, the paper is rightly credited for reviving and renewing the liberal tradition in Germany.
