Dear Friends and Colleagues

My new experimental documentary film LOVERS IN TIME OR HOW WE DIDN’T GET ARREST IN HARARE (and indeed practice research)  is screening on 3rd December at 6.30pm at the Political Film Festival Organised by the Goldsmith College, at New Cross.  Dr Diana Jeater, the acclaimed post -colonial scholar at Goldsmith's College, will be chairing a Q and A with me afterwards.  The film was nominated for the Best Documentary at the recent Zimbabwe International Film Festival and for the Best Feature at the Out of Africa Festival in Kenya just now (sadly didn’t win).

Thomas Elsaesser in his review of the film  says: ‘As with the films Jacques Rivette and Eric Rohmer that so often sparkle with Gallic wit, Lovers in Time modulates its moods quite masterfully between humour and tragedy, real danger and farce. It finally leaves the viewer more pensive and thoughtful, but also more positive and hopeful than had the director opted for a racially less entangled and a politically more correct “film of the play”  http://www.thomas-elsaesser.com/

I understand that the organisers are putting on some drinks for us afterwards and we can always go to the pub next door. To book your place please go here:

Hope to see some of you there!

Best wishes
