The Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media, University of Westminster, is pleased to announce a masterclass with Korean cinema’s renowned actress Moon So-ri. This special event is hosted by CREAM SCREENS and organised in collaboration with the London Korean Film Festival.

Ahead of the European premiere of her latest film, Love And ... (2015), Moon So-ri will talk at the University of Westminster about her exciting and varied career, from her multi-award winning work as an actress to her recent shift into filmmaking. She will talk about her working relationship with distinguished directors such as Lee Chang-dong and Hong Sangsoo, and her way of crafting characters. She will be in conversation with film critic Anton Bitel (Sight and Sound).

The masterclass will take place on Saturday 14 November 2015, 3pm, at the Wood Lecture Theatre, University of Westminster, Marylebone Campus.

The event is free of charge but booking is essential. For further details and reservation please go to:

Moon So-ri started her career on stage before starring in Lee Chang-dong’s Peppermint Candy in 2000. With her second feature, Oasis, also directed by Lee Chang-dong, she caught the attention of fans and critics across the world. Her portrayal of a woman suffering from cerebral palsy earned the actress her first major award at the 2002 Venice Film Festival. Moon continued to take on challenging roles in Im Sangsoo’s A Good Lawyer’s Wife, and Hong Sangsoo's recent films Hahaha and Hill of Freedom. Always defying convenient labels, the actress has embarked on filmmaking and teaching.

CREAM SCREENS is a series of screenings and conversations featuring the best of contemporary global film and artists’ moving image, and yet to be discovered pioneers of cinema’s global histories.
