Theatre, Music and Media Drama Research Group (TMD) book launch and research seminar

The Creative Industries Research Institute and the Theatre, Music and Media Drama Unit will be hosting a research seminar and book launch with Dr Maddalena Pennacchia and Dr Márta Minier to celebrate their edited collection, Adaptation, Intermediality and the British Celebrity Biopic (2014, Ashgate) on Wednesday 2nd of December, 3.30 – 5.00 pm in the Zen Room, ATRiuM (University of South Wales). Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required (for catering purposes). Please register your attendance via Eventbrite or email [log in to unmask]. Refreshments will be served.

 

The event will be chaired by Professor Richard Hand, and Dr Rebecca Williams will say a few words about the book from the perspective of celebrity studies. Dr Maddelena Pennacchia will present a paper on Theatre Performers VS Hollywood Celebrities: Shakespearean Quotes in the Staging of British Actors’ Lives and Dr Márta Minier on “Tradition Prepared Her. Change Will Define Her”: Translating History into Bio-Docudrama.
