UKSG E-Resources for Further Education

Getting your message across: making the most of mobile technologies and social media in FE

Wednesday 2 December 2015
The Library of Birmingham

UKSG presents the sixth in their popular series of events focusing specifically on managing e-resources and new technologies in the Further Education sector.

This seminar will examine how far mobile technologies and social media have enabled us to engage with our users in a more direct way.  From live chat to Twitter, we will be hearing about a wide range of innovations that are happening within the sector.

During the day there will be opportunities to hear from practitioners within FE about how they have introduced new ways of delivering high impact services, facilitating discussions about the success of these innovations.  The day will provide you with ideas on how you can also innovate at your own institution.  Alongside your colleagues from other institutions, we will be hearing from some key vendors about the new resources and services that they are introducing.  There will also be a small exhibition which will give delegates the opportunity to meet with vendors who specialise in providing e-resources to the Further Education sector, as well as being a platform for discussion, problem solving and networking.

Many thanks to our event sponsors, EBSCO, EDUSERVE – Chest Agreements and JCS Online Resources

Feedback from previous UKSG E-Resources for Further Education events:

·         “I liked the whole atmosphere of the day, particularly the mix of practitioners and suppliers and the friendliness of all concerned to help on the day and in the future.”

This event is FREE to FE institution delegates and includes refreshments, lunch and an optional tour of the Library of Birmingham, as well as a PRIZE DRAW for a fully expensed place at the UKSG 2016 Annual Conference in Bournemouth!
